About us

UWIRE is a now defunct research group at the University of Waterloo, active from 2008 to 2011, headed by graduate student Ammar Alzaydi of the MME departments Precision Controls Lab.

In the summer of 2009, Ammar brought fourth-year students PJ Mukherjee and Jeff Gorchynski on board to develop a robotic platform, that could be used both to complete the course requirements for ME / MTE 595 - Autonomous Mobile Robots (which included participating in the annual RobotRacing tournament) and to verify the research laid out in the paper "Optimized Fuzzy Logic Training of Neural Networks for Autonomous Robotics Applications".
